Information about the CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Have you always wanted to work with children or are currently working in a centre and need to obtain a qualification? TLK Community College delivers nationally recognised courses in Children’s Services. We have been delivering quality Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) nationally recognised childcare training since 1996. Units for all qualifications are conducted in a flexible delivery style through face-to-face sessions or online study, combined with assignments to be completed at home and on-the-job work experience. This provides students with a qualification to work in child care centres, before and after school and vacation care centres, family day care centres and home-based care services. You will learn in depth about appropriate interaction with children and fulfilling their physical, emotional and self-care needs.

Outcomes/Benefits

The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education covers workers in a range of early childhood education settings who: use organisational policies, procedures and individual children’s profiles to plan activities and provide care to children; work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard; support the implementation of an approved learning framework; and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve developmental outcomes.
Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously. This occupation may include associated occupations with varying tasks:

  • assisting in the preparation of materials and equipment for children’s education and recreational activities
  • managing children’s behaviour and guiding children’s social development
  • preparing and conducting activities for children
  • entertaining children by reading and playing games
  • supervising children in recreational activities
  • supervising the daily routine of children
  • supervising the hygiene of children

Occupational titles for this qualification may include: Early Childhood Educator, Outside School Hours Care Assistant*, Playgroup Supervisor, Recreation Assistant*, Family Day Care Worker, Nanny, Childhood Educator, Mobile Assistant, Childhood Educator Assistant. Note: some jurisdictions may require CHC41212 Certificate IV in Children’s Services (Outside School Hours Care) for specific work roles indicated by an asterisk (*).
