This Nationally Recognised qualification equips early childhood educators with the knowledge and skills to design and implement curriculum in early childhood education and care services.

Information about the CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. You will learn in depth about appropriate interaction with children and fulfilling their physical, emotional and self-care needs.

PLEASE NOTE: Photo identification is required when enrolling as part of nationally recognised course requirements.

Content

The content of this qualification involves either class-room or distance-based learning (correspondence studies). In some cases, employment based learning is available; which would include students completing their qualification within a traineeship program. Work experience placements are also completed. Generally, the following units of competency, including electives, will be completed:

Please Note: HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting is a separate course offered by the College each term at an extra cost. You are required to be competent in this unit in order to receive your diploma. Students studying under a subsidy will have this unit included.

Outcomes/Benefits

The CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualification covers workers in children’s services who may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff. This qualification incorporates the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) requirements.
