Tuggerah Lakes Community College was established in 1981 as Berkeley Vale Leisure Learning. Kincumber Community College was established 1984 as Kincumber Quality of Life Centre. The Colleges merged on 1 January 2006 and will continue to deliver leisure learning and vocational education and training throughout the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie regions. We are a not-for- profit, nationally recognised, registered training organisation providing adult and community education programs. The College receives support for its vocational and literacy programs from the Department of Education and Training NSW (DET). All other continuing education courses are funded entirely from students’ fees. We are incorporated with NSW Department of Fair Trading as Tuggerah Lakes Community College Incorporated and governed by a locally elected Board of Directors. Certificates: VET Programme
A Statement of Attainment will be provided once all unit of competency  assessment criteria have been successfully met. A full Certificate will be provided once all units of competency that make up that qualification have been successfully met. Students issued with Training Package qualifications can download Employability Skills Summaries from http://employabilityskills.training.com.au. These are included in the course fee. A $20 charge will apply where a replacement certificate is requested.

Non VET Programmes
Statements of Attendance, for the hours you attended, may be applied for at an extra cost. Ask your tutor for a Statement request form. Statements will only be issued within 12 months of course completion.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Tuggerah Lakes Community College recognises that adults in the community have achieved skills, knowledge and competence through a variety of life experiences. Therefore, it is an important part of our provision of accredited vocational education and training to offer recognition of these competencies through recognition of prior learning. Privacy
Information concerning students, including information submitted on the enrolment form will be used by Tuggerah Lakes Community College or other authorised organisations and government agencies for the purposes of general student administration, communication, state and national reporting, program monitoring and evaluation.

Mutual Recognition
Tuggerah Lakes Community College recognises the AQF qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by other Recognised Training Organisations throughout Australia.

Entry Qualifications
Unless otherwise stated in a course description, there are no entry qualifications provided you are over 14 years and nine months of age. Children are not permitted to attend classes with parents.

Buddy Program
As part of our Access and Equity policy where we believe that adult education is for everyone regardless of their personal situation, volunteers give their time to assist a person with a disability and in return have the opportunity to gain some new skills. If you feel you would like to provide transport, peer and learning support, to act as a mentor and buddy someone please call Sonya Oakes, Student Services Coordinator on 4353 0017.

Fees
Full fees are payable in advance and are for tuition only unless otherwise stated in the course description. Some courses will require extra costs for materials. All prices include GST where applicable. Part payments will not be accepted for courses under $1000 and an administration charge applies for payment plans. Students who wish to participate in certain courses for a reduced period may do so on a space available basis and at a casual rate as stipulated by the office. Receipts are posted with confirmation letters and the reissue of receipts will incur a $15 administration charge.

Concessions
Courses which offer a concession are marked with an asterisk*. Concessions of $10 are available to participants who are in receipt of an eligible benefit and who produce a current benefit card eg. Aged Pension, Disability Support Pension, Sole Parent Payment, Carer Payment, Newstart Allowance, Sickness Benefit Allowance, Family Supplement Benefit, Seniors Card holders and DVA’s. Concessions are available to eligible Austudy students

Confirmation
All enrolments will receive a mailed confirmation/receipt. Your enrolment has been accepted unless we tell you otherwise. Please call us if you have not received your confirmation receipt within seven days. Once you are enrolled assume the course will be held at the time and place indicated unless you hear from us. We do not send reminders.

Refund Conditions
Please choose your course carefully. Only in the event of a cancellation of a course can a refund be made. Refunds will not be granted to students who are unable to attend courses due to changes in personal circumstances, work commitments or other reasons beyond our control. You may send a family member or friend in your place provided you advise the office prior to the class commencing, and provided they have the necessary prerequisites if any. The College regrets it cannot accept responsibility for changes in students’ work commitments or personal circumstances.

Transfer Requests
Transfer requests received 5 working days before the commencement of a course will be considered and accommodated where possible. A $15 administration charge will apply for each transfer. Requests for transfers after this time will be declined, except in the case of serious, verifiable illness. Notification must be received in writing (or email) within 5 working days. Once approved, a transfer is valid only for the subsequent term. If you choose to transfer to another class within five working days of the original class commencing no refund for the difference (if any) will be given. Once you have chosen to transfer, no refunds will be offered if you then chose to withdraw. Refunds will only apply if you transfer from a cancelled class.

Cancellations
The College reserves the right to cancel, shorten or vary courses. Courses with low enrolments may be cancelled. You will be offered a full refund or a transfer to another course of your choice. Some courses may be permitted to continue at the same fee, but for a shorter period, if this is agreed to by both the tutor and the students. We leave the decision to cancel to within 24 hours of the course commencement to maximise the chances that the minimum number of students will be reached. In the event of course cancellation, we will make every effort to contact you. When enrolling, please provide your phone, fax and email contacts accurately.

Evaluation
At some stage during the course the tutor will ask you to complete an evaluation form. Your feedback is important to us. Evaluation forms may be handed to the tutor or sent in by mail. If you are not happy with the course please do not hesitate to contact the office so we can address it without delay.

General Information
The College reserves the right to alter this brochure without warning. The College accepts no responsibility for students’ vehicles or personal property. The College reserves the right of entry within the parameters of its Access and Equity policy, which is available on request. Enrolment is conditional on the student’s adherence to College rules and regulations. The College reserves the right to remove students who are not of good behaviour from the class. The ACE Practitioner (teacher/ tutor) is deemed the person in charge of the class. The Board of Management is the final arbiter of disputes. Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of this brochure.
